Workshop 2010, Tønsberg

The  workshop in 2010 was arranged at Quality Hotel Klubben in Tønsberg from 31st May to 2nd June 2010. The workshop was open to all PhD candidates, thesis advisors, researchers and industrial partners from the nanotechnology/microsystems field. There were 30 oral presenations, 22 posters and 95 participants.

 

Award winners

Winner of best student presentation award: Sabrina Eder, University of Bergen, Neutral Helium Atom Microscopy “Seeing with Atoms”

Winner of best student poster award: Christian Weigand, NTNU, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, ZnO nanostructures grown by pulsed laser deposition.

 

Workshop program

Workshop 2011, Oslo

The workshop in 2011 was arranged at Rica Hotel Helsfyr in Oslo. There were 26 oral presenations, 15 posters and 71 participants. The workshop was coordinated with the official opening of The Norwegian Micro and Nano Fabrication Facility, NorFab, which took place at Ole Johan Dahls hus at the University of Oslo.

Award winners

The award for best student poster was given to A. Mazid Munshi at Dept. of Electronics and Telecommunication at NTNU for the poster Positioned self-catalyzed GaAs nanowire arrays on Si substrates grown by molecular beam epitaxy.

The award for best student presentation was given to Kristin Elisabeth Haugstad at Dept. of Physics at NTNU for the talk on Force probes with picoNewton sensitivity applied to study carbohydrate – carbohydrate self interactions.

Workshop 2012, Trondheim

The workshop in 2012 was arranged at Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel in Trondheim from 11th of June to 13th of June 2012. There were 14 oral presentations, 33 posters and 103 participants. A tour of the NanoLab facilities at NTNU was given on the last day of the workshop.

 

Award winners

The award for best student poster was given to Erik Folven at Dept. of Electronics and Telecommunication at NTNU for the poster Controlling the relative spin alignment in AFM/FM nanostructures.

 

The award for best student presentation was given to Vidar Fauske at Dept. of Physics at NTNU for the talk on Transmission electron microscopy study of defects at the interface between GaAs nanowires and a Si-111 substrate.
