Integrated Circuit Design


This group has as its main focus the study of analog circuit techniques and architectures in nanoscale CMOS for applications in miniaturized medical ultrasound imaging. Here, nanoscale CMOS are defined as CMOS technologies with minimum line widths smaller than 100 nm. The bulk of the design work is done at 65 nm.A number of new effects crop up as a result of working at this small size, including low supply voltage and degradation of device performance over time. The CMOS circuits interface with ultrasound transducers that are also fabricated in a microsystem technology, at SINTEF´s MiNaLab in Oslo. The CMOS circuits are designed in Norway and then fabricated abroad.
