Financial support: Call for spring applications

Applications for financial support from the Nano-Network are now open. The application deadline is 1 March 2017.

Total support granted in 2016 was NOK 491.800 for participation in international conferences and NOK 775.800 for research activities.

It’s possible to apply for support in the following categories:

 

Support for research activity and services at external facilities

The Norwegian PhD Network on Nanotechnology for Microsystems offers financial support to cover research activities and laboratory and processing expenses for PhD candidates and post doctors in the network. Support is granted based on applications and is limited to maximum NOK 40.000 per student.

 

This grant may cover:

  • direct expenses at the lab (access cost, expendables, etc.)
  • processing work done “out of house”
  • minor equipment needed to conduct research in your own lab
  • extended research visits at universities or research institutions abroad

Travel grant for international conferences or courses

The Norwegian PhD Network on Nanotechnology for Microsystems offers travel grants to network participants to participate at international conferences where the PhD candidate is presenting his/her work. A signed confirmation from the thesis advisor is necessary.

We also offer travel grants to network participants to participate at international courses that are part of the PhD candidate’s required coursework. Documentation that the course is part of the coursework is required.

The maximum amount for conference travel grants and international courses is 20.000 NOK.

The outcome of the application process will be ready before 7 April and signed grant letters will be sent out shortly thereafter.

 

Grants will be valid only for 12 months after allocation. This means all reimbursement claim must be submitted within this 12 months period, counting from the date on the confirmation letter. Exceptions may be made upon application.
