A pleasant stay in Tønsberg

Our fifth annual workshop was arranged in Tønsberg from 16 to 18 June, with 86 participants. There were 10 invited speakers, and the programme was otherwise made up by 21 oral and 16 poster presentations from participants in the network.

Dyring our entire stay we had lovely weather. This made for a very pleasant trip on Tuesday evening, when we went by boat to the island Østre Bolæren for a guided tour of the former military constructions, followed by dinner at the restaurant.

Student awards

The awards for best student presentation and best poster were won by Federico Mazzola and Jonas Ribe, both from the Department of Physics  at NTNU. Federico Mazzola won the prize for best oral presentation with Unconventional hybrid superconductors? A novel manipulation of manybody interactions, while Jonas Ribe won best poster award with the poster Patterning polydimethylsiloxane by dry etching using metal hard masks. They both won book gift certificates.
